Who performs these services?

Vetted community volunteers who are willing and able to pay it forward. To ensure comfort and assurance for those receiving services, we vet our volunteers. A background check of public records is done for each volunteer, and all volunteers who drive must be licensed and insured.

If volunteers are doing the work, why is there a cost for members?

We're glad you asked. The member fees pay for the cost of the software (Helpful Village) and contribute to expenses associated with program events, parties, training, and administration of the Vibrant Village at Sorrento.

GoodLife Innovations and Vibrant Village are 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organizations. Although the membership fees are not sufficient to cover all costs, we routinely seek and receive external funding to support operational costs. If you are interested in contributing to the cause, gifts can be made at any time. Donations can be made by calling GoodLife at (913) 292-4091. To request a donation form or  on the website, click here.

How do I request a service?

Helping people ask for help: Members can click or call to request a service or activity (atleast 24 hours in advance), knowing that neighbors have already indicated they would be happy to help in these specific ways.

Helping helpful people help: Helping is most rewarding when using your favorite skills to assist. Finding the people who need your kind of help is more likely when you consider the whole Sorrento community. Helping find those matches and connecting the two of you is our favorite skill.
