What are the benefits of volunteering?

By becoming a Volunteer, you are putting your own skills and talents to use to make the world a better place, and also bringing satisfaction to yourself. By drawing on the untapped capacity of people in our community to support each other, volunteering with Vibrant Village not only offers meaningful ways to make a positive difference in people's lives, it also supports our neighbors and creates new friendships. To ensure comfort and assurance for those receiving services, we vet our volunteers. A background check is done for each volunteer, and all volunteers who drive must be licensed and insured.

How does it work?

We make it easy to volunteer. Our system catalogs needs and skills and allows volunteers the flexibility to perform services they wish to fulfill and when they wish to fulfill them. When someone becomes a volunteer, they select the types of services they are willing to assist with. Once a member submits a service request, an email is sent to the volunteers who selected that type of service. If a volunteer is able to fulfill the request, they respond to the email or log into the website to accept the request.

How much does it cost?

Only those who wish to receive services will be charged a monthly or annual membership fee. For more information about receiving services and becoming a member, click here

If volunteers are doing the work, why is there a cost for members?

We're glad you asked. The member fees pay for the cost of the software (Helpful Village) and contribute to expenses associated with program events, parties, training, and administration of the Vibrant Village at Sorrento. 

GoodLife Innovations and Vibrant Village are 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organizations. Although the membership fees are not sufficient to cover all costs, we routinely seek and receive external funding to support operational costs. Are Volunteers insured?

Yes, once you become a volunteer, you will be insured under the Village's parent company, GoodLife Innovations Inc.
